The Observatoire de la qualité de l’offre alimentaire analyzes how Quebecers eat. Since 2019, the research facility has been working on tools to help healthcare institutions evaluate their services.

Created to help improve the nutritional quality of food in Quebec, as part of the government’s Preventive Health Policy (PGPS), the Observatoire has been responsible for collecting data on how Quebecers eat since 2016.

Alongside sector-specific studies aimed at assessing the nutritional composition of the main products purchased in grocery stores, a line of research, subsidized by the Ministry of Health and Social Services, is dedicated to measuring the quality of the food offer in institutions, and first and foremost in the network of healthcare establishments.
